imp takes a few moments to load content from your Media Taster into your imp. When it's finished loading, it will look like the image on the left. In the upper left corner of the display, you'll see the name of your Media Taster. While you're waiting for the content to get delivered, you can go ahead and explore the Store (on the lower left) and search for artists.
Or to get a look at the progress being made on your media downloading, you can click on the name of the Media Taster in the upper left.
If after more than 60 seconds nothing has populated any of the main windows. Go back to the website where you got your media taster and re-download the mini-app to add that taster to your imp. You can also try restarting imp.
